Catherine Britt with her band, The Cold Cold Hearts, has been touring Australia and will be stopping off at Rainforest Ranch Byfield on Sunday 15th July. Her seventh studio album, Catherine Britt & The Cold Cold Hearts will be released the following week on Friday 20th July. Catherine is heading to Broadbeach where she will kick off the Groundwater Country Music Festival on Friday 27th July and feature on the main stage the following night.
Catherine will be performing on the big outdoor stage at Rainforest Ranch as part of a mini festival that will start at 11am and continue with local acts during the afternoon leading up to what will be an exciting performance by Catherine and her band in the early evening. Supporting and touring with Catherine are two great rising talents in Melody Moko and Zoey Mills.
Leading up to Catherine’s performance a bunch of Central Qld Muso’s will be getting together for the official release of their latest album titled Friends, Old Farts and Fingerpickers Vol 2. The Album was produced locally and features ten friends who have been performing in the region for over 30 years collectively putting together over 300 years of experience. Doghouse are coming up from Gladstone way and locals Caitie Hughes, Rachel Dee, Sophie Rose & Kate Mahood will all be contributing their talents.
Rainforest Ranch owners Warren & Jean O’Leary are thrilled to have Catherine return to their property where last year she performed with Amber Lawrence & Fanny Lumsden in what was a fantastic night. Warren said “It is great to have such a special talent here. We first met Catherine in Newcastle when she was 14. There was something extremely special about her then and have followed her career ever since. You don’t get to perform with the likes of Elton John, Allan Jackson, Dolly Parton and Brooks and Dunn unless there is that something special.”
From Newcastle to Nashville, Catherine made the move to the home of country music at just 17 years old. It was a brave decision that landed her a contract with the legendary RCA Records. Catherine returned to Australia in 2009 and recorded the full-length album Dusty Smiles and Heartbreak Cures which was the first of five consecutive albums nominated for Album Of The Year at the CMAA (Country Music Awards of Australia). The accolades didn’t stop there. Along the way she has received five Golden Guitar Awards, the CMA Global Artist Of The Year award in 2010 and six ARIA Award nominations for Best Country Album. Catherine spent has performed with the likes Sir Elton John, Don McLean, Kasey Chambers, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, Kenny Chesney, Steve Earle, Guy Clark, Chris Isaak and Keith Urban
